F.A.Q. • Where and when does this game take place? This game takes place in the X-Men movieverse and is played in "real time". It takes place three years after the events of X2 but before X3. In order to account for the fact that X1 came out in 2000 and it's now 2018, the following tweaks the timeline a bit: 2012: events of X1 (for age reference, Rogue is 15 at the time. Classmates would be similarly aged. Scott, Jean, Ororo appear to be in their 30s). 2015: events of X2 2018: present day We may or may not recreate the events of X3 (in a way that doesn't make us all feel like we're listening to fingernails on a chalk board) depending on player interest. The game focuses on the Brotherhood. One tidbit we'll take from X3 is that the Brotherhood seems to live in some kind of underground bunker with a metal hatch to get in and out. link | link As you go further in, there will be bedrooms, living areas, kitchen areas, etc. etc. And your character is always welcome to go outside and head to NYC for some out-of-the-hatch fun. But there you have it. That's where they live. • Do you allow for multiple versions of the same character or the same PB being used for multiple characters? Only one version of each character is allowed, and each should be modified to fit the original trilogy movieverse. As for PBs, since we allow characters from other fandoms -- including those that come from television and movies where specific actors play their characters -- there are certain instances where the same PB can be used for multiple characters. For example, Anna Paquin played Rogue in the original trilogy. But if someone wanted to bring in a modified-mutant Sookie Stackhouse that person would also be able to use Anna Paquin as a PB. The same goes for if, for example, someone is already using Sarah Michelle Gellar for a minor character they've adapted from the Marvelverse and someone wants to bring in a mutant-fied Buffy Summers. In these instances, please talk to the other player using that PB (we'll give you a head's up about who you need to contact when you place your hold) to decide whether you want people to not recognize any similarities (in that case, we can all use our imaginations), whether you want people to see that they look somewhat similar but not exactly the same, or, if you want to get really wild, whether you want them to be long-lost relatives or something similar to explain the visual similarity. The one exception to this rule is that if someone's using a specific PB that PB cannot be used again for a character that was not played-by that actor or actress in a visual medium. If in doubt, or if you have any questions, please feel free to hit up the drop box. • What kind of character can I play? Since the game revolves around the Brotherhood, almost all characters should have that affiliation. You're welcome to use characters that were in the Brotherhood in the original trilogy, make an OC, take a canon character from another fandom and turn them into a mutant who's a Brotherhood member, take one of the bazillion characters from Marvel and tweak them to make them a Brotherhood member, etc. We'll also accept non-Brotherhood characters (especially for the purposes of creating conflict). Just leave a message in the dropbox so we can chat and make sure your character will have enough to do since they'll be on the fringes. • How does the network system work in this game? Tessa Niles (Sage) has created a computer network for mutants everywhere. All mutants can gain access to this. Additionally, she's created a network specifically for the Brotherhood. Your character can make public posts, which every character can see, private posts which only they can see, filtered posts which only the characters filtered can see, or posts directed towards their specific affiliation. Please make sure to clearly note this in your post. • What journal is for what? @ ![]() @ ![]() @ ![]() @ ![]() @ ![]() If you have any other questions, please post them in the drop box. |
